Wimbledon Common Residence: A Connected Estate Designed for Modern Living

Set against the natural backdrop of Wimbledon Common, this exceptional private residence offered us the opportunity to collaborate once again with a valued returning client. The result is a carefully considered technology ecosystem that supports both the architecture and the lifestyle it was designed for.

A Multi-Building Estate, Seamlessly Connected

The estate extends beyond the main residence, incorporating a Pool House, Summer House, Annexe, and a private tennis court. Each space is connected via a robust fibre backbone, ensuring consistent performance and a unified experience across the entire property.

This approach allows the estate to function as a single, cohesive environment rather than a collection of separate buildings, with technology quietly underpinning every space.

Lighting Control That Brings the Design Vision to Life

We designed and delivered a comprehensive lighting control system, enabling the lighting scheme to be executed precisely in line with the original concept design.

The result is a flexible, intuitive system that enhances architectural features, adapts to different times of day, and supports the way the home is used, without adding complexity for the user.

Intelligent Shading for Comfort and Privacy

The automated shading solution combines privacy sheers with full room-darkening treatments.

This layered approach allows for precise control of natural light and privacy, creating comfortable environments throughout the day and complete darkness when required.

Simplified Control with Tyba Turn 2

With multiple systems in play, including lighting, shading, audio, and third-party integration, Turn 2 was deployed to simplify control.

By reducing the need for extensive hardware interfaces, it delivers a streamlined user experience while maintaining full functionality across all connected systems.

Enterprise-Level Connectivity in a Challenging Location

The property benefits from a secure, enterprise-grade network that ensures reliable wireless connectivity throughout.

Starlink was selected as the primary internet service provider, offering high-speed connectivity where traditional infrastructure falls short. This is supported by a wired backup from conventional providers, positioning the home for future fibre availability.

Designed in Collaboration

The architectural vision for the project was led by Hollaway Architects, with technology carefully integrated to complement, rather than compete with, the design.
