Together For Cinema CIC is a Community Interest Company whose main focus is to work with the AV industry to design and install home cinema rooms in children’s hospices and other suitable locations across the UK. These rooms not only benefit the children and young adults, but also their families, carers, staff and volunteers. Together For Cinema has comprehensive support and backing from our industry, hence all products and installation services are donated.

At Ideaworks, we are inspired by the work of Together for Cinema; an amazing opportunity to use our expertise, skill and resource to support those organisations within the community who work tirelessly to provide a space for respite, fun and learning for young children and their families.

We are delighted to have worked on our first Together for Cinema project at We Are Beams.

We are Beams was established as a charity in 1996 by a group of parents. They believed that they could deliver better support for their disabled child by working together, rather than the help they were currently getting through the local authority. They became directly accountable to the parents, carers and young people who accessed their services. 

Since then the charity has grown significantly and now offer five key services to at least 450 parents and children at any one time. 

We were immediately drawn to We Are Beams as an opportunity because they are doing an amazing job bringing joy and support to families who face considerable challenges. There was an obvious pride that the team there take in the job they do.  Listening to them talk in such positive terms was inspiring.

It’s fair to say that our average Client doesn’t face the kind of difficulties that many of the children and parents, who rely on We are Beams, are facing.  Often, we may never know or meet our Clients. We rely on the satisfaction we assume they derive from the services we provide for them around the world. This was an opportunity to do something for a different kind of client, who will undoubtedly appreciate what we do and hopefully be enjoyed by many families at We Are Beams. And it was right on our doorstep!

Most people see the value in doing charitable works and giving support to charities, and like many companies, we do a number of things to raise money and support various charities.  Increasingly, we have found that raising donations becomes harder as the economy bites and charities have to work ever harder to raise funds.

Being able to bring together our commercial links to equipment suppliers and all of our inhouse skills, massively multiplies the value of what we can do over and above simply donating money.  It also enables far more people within Ideaworks the opportunity to donate their time and effort.
