Transforming a Legend – MY Octopus
MY Octopus is a legendary 126-meter superyacht, initially commissioned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and launched in 2003. Known for its cutting-edge design and advanced technology, Octopus features luxury accommodation, an underwater observation lounge, and state-of-the-art exploration capabilities, including a submarine and two helipads.
Renowned for its role in leisure and scientific exploration, the yacht has hosted groundbreaking projects and expeditions, making it a symbol of innovation and opulence on the seas.
MY Octopus partnered with Ideaworks to undergo a transformative two-phase refit, enhancing its capabilities and luxury features to meet the demands of its adventurous itineraries.
The first phase commenced in 2022, focusing on a complete WiFi upgrade to ensure seamless performance. After setting sail for a series of charters, the yacht returned to the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, northern Germany, for a 10-month refit to elevate its onboard experience further.

Technology Upgrades: We implemented a state-of-the-art AV system and Cisco IT infrastructure with a 40Gbps backbone to ensure guests are always connected.
Advanced Video Distribution: Integration of a Crestron NVX 4K video system for an unparalleled media experience throughout the vessel.
Event System Enhancements: We installed high-output speakers and disco lighting to create a dynamic entertainment environment.
Reimagined Creative Space: The recording studio was reimagined as a stylish lounge, offering guests a new level of comfort onboard.
Lighting Refinements: Comprehensive lighting support tailored to the yacht’s existing system before a full upgrade.
