Digital Nature: Marshmallow Laser Feast at Ideaworks’ London Experience Centre

We’re proud to exhibit the work of acclaimed digital art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) at the London Experience Centre.

About Marshmallow Laser Feast

Marshmallow Laser Feast is internationally recognised for creating immersive art that blends science, technology, and the natural world. Their work uses cutting-edge tools, such as LiDAR scanning, volumetric capture, and real-time rendering, to visualise the invisible structures that shape life on Earth. Whether exploring the inner architecture of a tree or the sensory world of other species, MLF’s installations are known for shifting perspectives and revealing the hidden beauty of complex systems.

On Display: Sanctuary of the Unseen Forest

Currently on display at the LEC is Sanctuary of the Unseen Forest, a captivating digital exploration of a kapok tree in the Amazon. Developed using ecological data and 3D modelling, the piece guides viewers through the tree’s vascular system and its role in the wider web of life. It’s a rare invitation to step inside the processes that sustain the planet.

Presented on the Ventana Display

To bring the experience to life, we’re presenting the piece on our Ventana display, a cutting-edge digital canvas designed for ultra-high fidelity video playback. With deep contrast, high resolution, and seamless integration into the Orbit Room, Ventana reveals every detail of MLF’s layered, data-driven storytelling.

The Oak at Kew Gardens

The themes explored in Sanctuary continue in Marshmallow Laser Feast’s latest public work, Of the Oak, which is now on display at Kew Gardens. Created in collaboration with scientists and researchers, the installation digitally reimagines a 300-year-old English oak tree, offering a powerful reflection on the complexity, resilience, and quiet intelligence of native woodland species.

Of the Oak is on display at Kew Gardens until September, and tickets can be purchased via the Kew website.
