A design collaboration we are privileged to have worked on.

Set in the Barvikha Forest near Moscow, Capital Hill is an architectural masterpiece designed by Zaha Hadid. The Zaha Hadid interior team pushed the boundaries of construction by making each area of the property unique. Its curved shapes seamlessly blending together using cutting edge building techniques and lighting technologies that were at prototype stage at the time. We are enormously proud to have been chosen to work alongside the Zaha Hadid team to help imagine and then detail the impossible.

As you would expect from a project of this status, customisation and attention to every little detail was key to its success. Our experience of working on the largest and most challenging superyachts where fully bespoke solutions and custom product design is the norm, made us the perfect partner for the project. The Zaha Hadid and Ideaworks team developed bespoke products including built-in charging docks, invisible lighting control switches, invisible speakers and subwoofers, and TVs appearing out of nowhere. The design extended to the exterior, integrating a satellite dish into a dome which merges into the surface of the building.

Creativity and craftsmanship are at the heart of Ideaworks’ approach and this incredible project, working alongside Zaha Hadid gave us the opportunity to flex both skills. Of course, not every home looks quite as unusual as this creation; but every home or yacht we work on still has design considerations which we must understand and compliment with the technology and Lighting we install.

It shows the importance of considering technology and lighting as early as possible in the design process.
