Artificial lighting has never been more sophisticated, and never more so than when recreating daylight in indoor spaces. Now more than ever we are encouraging our clients and our project teams to embrace the power of natural light, and asking them to say goodbye to gloomy basements, commercial spaces and the lower decks of yachts!

One such product we’ve been hugely impressed with is ‘Big Sky Limitless’ from Light Cognitive, based in Finland. We’ve put it to the test recently by installing a custom 4 square metre window into our basement space (although it is more than at home on the ceiling also, should you wish). “This really is a fantastic lighting solution”, says James Siddle, Senior Technical Lighting Designer at Ideaworks. “It does an amazing job of replicating the natural hues and cycles of the day, and I’m a firm believer that it will improve the wellbeing and productivity of anyone who uses a space where this is installed.”

Big Sky is more than capable of following the natural cycles of the day, with the user being able to define where in the world they wish the installation to replicate. Furthermore, they can trigger custom scenes at will, for a special occasion or a particular mood.Controlling Big Sky is simple and seamless. It can be integrated with any building automation or lighting control system, or alternatively via a dedicated app on a smartphone or tablet.

Big Sky Limitless is a revolutionary way of bringing natural light to indoor spaces. The best way to find out more about it is to experience it for yourself. Don’t forget we are having an Open Day at our London Experience Centre on the 17th June. If you are an Interior Designer or Architect and would like a private viewing of Big Sky please contact
