The standard for home cinemas in Europe has just been dramatically increased following the European launch of the IMAX Private Theatre on Tuesday (3rd March 2015).

Considered by most as the ultimate moviegoer’s experience, IMAX is world-renowned for its trademark floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall screen and immersive surround sound system.

Although IMAX Private Theatre was first launched two years ago, luxury loving Londoners have been keen to get the technology installed in basement renovations, so it’s no surprise that to launch their Private Theatre system in Europe, the IMAX team chose a venue and company that shares the same passion for home theatres as they do, backed up by 30 years of experience.

IMAX came to London and took over the Ideaworks Experience Centre on Great Portland Street for the launch of the larger than life Private Theatre system, joined by delegates from some of London’s top design studios.

“We had an outstanding launch event for the new IMAX Private Theatre at the Experience Centre”, said Andrew Cripps, President IMAX EMEA “great venue and ideal for hosting press and customers”.

With a price tag of around £1.8million, the minimum space requirement for the system including a room housing 10 seats, is 22ft wide, 12ft tall and 40ft deep.
