Like many designers I have an unhealthy Pinterest addiction.

In order to put this enthusiasm to good use, I recently began populating Ideaworks’ boards to use as a design resource – both for our own design teams and for those designers and clients that we work with.

As I sought out pins of stunning interiors, it struck me just how quickly any design scheme could be dated by the technology it uses; the super sleek apartment that looked fabulous in 2010 now marred by a super-deep plasma TV protruding from the wall.

Of course using the right technology can turn a nice interior into an incredible space, but with technology design trends changing so rapidly, it is now more important than ever to work as closely as possible with designers to truly integrate that technology into their schemes.

Working with some of the best interior designers in the world has given me a real enthusiasm for doing whatever I can to be as sympathetic as possible to their design intent and help their interiors last as long as possible through subtle integration.

Although testing technology and understanding trends to figure out how to best integrate in to schemes takes a lot of time and effort, looking back at a project years later and still being amazed is priceless.

As a BIID accredited industry partner, Ideaworks have 30 years of experience working closely with interior designers to integrate technology seamlessly into homes and superyachts. For more information contact
